The Prayer of St. Francis begins with these words..... Lord make me an instrument of your peace...
The Lord is a musician without compare and we can choose to be his instruments Like musical instruments we are many types, piano, guitars, harps and horns are just a few. We each are capable of producing our own unique distinct sounds. These are the ways in which we will fulfill Gods plans for us. Much like a new instrument we too need to be tuned that we will produce sweet music in harmony and with faith in Him it can become perfect harmony.
The holy spirit strums the guitar strings of our hearts, fills our lungs with just the right amount of breath that soothes our being. When we are ready we will become part of Gods symphony, the master musician will form us into a crescendo of serenades and we will be at peace.
I Will Walk With You By Peter L. Godlewski 6/13/03 They come from the clouds to be at our side An earthly journey to help us decide
With divine purpose they take on the quest In angelic attire they bring out our best
When we’re lost and confused and unable to function We’re engulfed by their wings and saved from destruction
We can’t always see them guiding the way But rainbows and sunshine will brighten our day
The path they travel is away from the dark Leading us through life, like a walk in the park
They confront the dark forces that lead us awry With courage and faith they sound the battle cry
Their perils are many as guardians of man But the Father protects them like no one else can
I will walk with you they pledge to us As they strive to earn our timid trust
As we withdraw from this earthly sphere We are drawn to the light and suddenly they appear
Their welcoming embrace of peace and love Will ensure with Godspeed they will take us above
The Nature of Moms (By Peter L. Godlewski) 5/01/03
It is the nature of nurture that Mother’s provide and the nurture of nature that keeps our planet alive
God gave us Mother Nature to help us survive and Mother’s to keep us safe and alive
Nature brings forth the buds of Spring like a Mother brings life that makes our hearts sing
The natural resources of Nature sustain us in life like a Mother’s natural instincts protect us so nice
Basking in sunlight soothes the soul like a Mother’s hug when we’re damp and cold
Cool breezes on a hot summer day are a lot like Mother’s when they take our tears away
Mother’s Day is time for extolling and sharing my love beyond your knowing
A Life Shared By Peter L. Godlewski 6/19/03
Together is more then a word that keeps us from being apart It’s the bonds of marriage that dwell in the heart
Our journey began at the church alter Where I DO is our commitment not to falter
The daily struggles we face as one Make us stronger with each rising sun
God’s blessing of children and grandkids abound And have joy filled our lives like a trip on a merry-go-round
When one of us is down and wearing a frown The other is there to turn that frown upside-down
While riding this roller coaster of life has been fun You have been the excitement as my loved one
The years will come and go for us And I know our secret is in our trust
To My Little Girl By Peter L. Godlewski 9/19/2003
One September she arrived on our planet Someone I would not take for granted
She quickly wrapped me around her little fingers And in my heart her love still lingers
Her beautiful eyes and perfect complexion Made her look as sweet as confection
She was all girl with her pretty curls And with her baton she did lots of twirls
I really enjoyed hearing her bedtime prayers And the joy I felt as I walked down the stairs
Her first day of school brought her to classes It was soon after that she would start to wear glasses
High school matured into stockings and earrings And it was then for the boys that she had yearnings
Four years she studied finance in college Earning a degree packed with lots of knowledge
One day a young man captured her heart A tear left my eye knowing we would be apart
She was a beautiful bride at her wedding that day And I was proud to give Daddy’s little girl away
The grand-kids have touched my life with their smiles Leaving little prints on my heart long after they have gone miles
Today on her birthday she is blessed from above To have two parents and a family of love
Something In The Air 10/8/2003 By Peter L. Godlewski
The wind is at rest and the leaves are still Like us when sleep overcomes our will
A breeze stirs on the shore of the sea I rise to greet the day and begin to be me
Air filled sails embark on their quest The trials of the day will be my test
As the blowing increases and measured in knots I get myself in gear, out the door like a shot
You can't really see it or touch it at all Much like our God who answers our call
Dark clouds and rain fill its voids Like the tears that leave our eyes when pain we can't avoid
The fuel of storms wields its might. Much like our anger leads us to fight
Hurricanes and twisters leave evidence behind Like the damage of words uttered unkind
It canvases rainbows on a pallet of sky As a smile delivers a warm friendly hi
Wind slows to breezes and calmness returns My head hits the pillow and dreams begin to churn
The Life Of A Leaf By Peter L. Godlewski 10/25/03 finished 3/31/04
The Life Of A Leaf
It’s my birthday and spring is almost here I’m just a little bud beginning to appear
My stem is sprouting atop this lofty oak While a nearby highway brings busy folk
The wren and the robin nest nearby Soon their young will be ready to fly
From the roots to the trunk, the bough to the limb That which sustains keeps me prim
Radiant energy enters my cells This synergy will keep both of us well
Mother nature provides my bath And also protects me from her wrath
The maple and elm, the birch and the ash All garnish the earth like a pretty sash
The wind stirs us to frolic in the dance As if the wand of a tree conductor was leading us to prance
The thunder of summer brings cooling rains Tugging and pulling that really strains
Sun on one side and shade on the other We offer shelter to those who pass and one another
Days are growing shorter and kids are back to school Hints of autumn fill the air and evenings are cool
The greens of summer yield to yellows and reds An omen of times that lie ahead
Its time to let go and float to the ground And join my siblings without a sound
The oak is slipping into its slumber And there are too many of us to call by number
Thank you mother oak for the life of a leaf As I fade from this mosaic in calm disbelief.
